Terms of Use

These are the terms you agree to by using the ThroMedia app and this website. If you do not agree, the remedy is simple and costs nothing: do not install the app, or uninstall it.
Who we are
ThroMedia is published by Haunted Space Hotel Studios on Google Play and byFossa Tracks, Inc. on Apple's App Store. Haunted Space Hotel Studios is a registered fictitious business name of Fossa Tracks, Inc., a California corporation. "We" and "us" on this page mean that company.
Your licence
When you install ThroMedia, or unlock something in it, you get a licence to read and listen: personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, for your own use, for as long as these terms hold. You are not buying a copy of the books or the software. The books of Apocryphal Anthros, their text, recordings, art and characters belong toDrew P. and their other rights holders; the app belongs to us.
The licence does not include:
- copying, sharing, selling, renting or redistributing the books, the recordings, the page images or the app;
- getting around the app's locks, or pulling the files out of it to use elsewhere;
- reverse-engineering or modifying the app, except where the law where you live allows it anyway, in which case the law wins.
Quoting a short passage in a review or a post, with credit, is fine. The app is built partly on other people's software, which carries its own licences.
Free chapters and purchases
The first chapters are free. When something is for sale, it is sold as an in-app purchase through the App Store or Google Play, which take the payment and hold the record of what you own. We never handle your money. A purchase is restored on another device signed in to the same store account. Refunds are Apple's or Google's to give, under their own rules.
Codes and offers (for example for Kickstarter backers) are the stores' own promotional codes, redeemed in the App Store or Google Play, and follow those stores' terms.
What we promise, and what we do not
We work to keep the app running and the books available. We cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted, and we may change or update it. The app and its content are provided as they are, to the extent the law where you live allows. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be signed away.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the thing in question.
Apple's terms
If you got ThroMedia from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies alongside these terms where it speaks to something they do not, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
Privacy
What the app does with data is on its own page: privacy. In short: no accounts and no tracking.

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with its date, and continuing to use the app means you accept it. Questions: support@hauntedspacehotel.com.
